An introductory course for anyone interested in learning more about Magda Gerber’s Educaring Approach®. The RIE® certified Introduction to Educaring course provides an overview of RIE and the Educaring Approach.

Course Overview

The RIE® certified online course is designed for educators, parents and caregivers who wish to learn about Magda Gerber’s Educaring Approach®. This introductory course offers an overview of RIE and the Educaring Approach. Participants learn key principles and practices that support nurturing environments, fostering independence and fostering authentic relationships with children. The Approach seeks to help parents and professionals build stable, secure, healthy relationships with infants and toddlers, encouraging the children’s natural abilities from the very start.

Course Topics

The Educaring Approach encourages adult caregivers to see young children as competent and capable humans from birth. Topics include:

  • Trust in the child

  • The guidelines of sensitive caregiving

  • Facilitating optimal development through play

  • Communicating respect through everyday interactions

Format: Online

Frequency: 2 classes

Duration: 1.5 hours per class

Total hours: 3 hours total

Cost: $280 per participant

  • You will be in class with parents, grandparents, caregivers, educators, childcare providers, and other aligned professionals who want to gain a basic understanding of Magda Gerber’s Educaring Approach. This mix of people in this class will provide multiple perspectives on how the approach can be used in caring for and interacting with infants and toddlers.

  • Classes are live and not recorded, so you please make sure you can attend all three hours.

  • Some reading and digital resources will be sent to you via email prior to the course starting.

    You will also need access to a computer with a consistent internet connection and the Zoom application.

  • This course needs a minimum of 6 participants to take place.

    There is a maximum group size of 14.
